We feel proud to have the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (IEEE SMC), which is one of the fastest progressing and promising technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru initiated and actively started IEEE SMC NHCE Student Branch Chapter on 24.01.2025.

 

Objectives:

IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (SMC) is the leading provider of the latest technological developments in the power and energy industry, the formation of key industry standards, and the continuing education of society members, industry, and the general public. The Society continually updates its program of technical activities to meet the needs of modern industry.

 

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering received Petition Approval Letter from IEEE Member and Geographic Activities USA to start the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society NHCE Student Branch Chapter on 24th January 2025. The effective date of this Student Branch Chapter formation is January 24, 2025 and Geo Code is SBC66131K. Currently 18 IEEE SMC Members are active in this chapter of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department.

 

IEEE SMC society at New Horizon College of Engineering is dedicated to promoting the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society is to serve the interests of its members and the community at large by promoting the theory, practice, and interdisciplinary aspects of systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics. It is accomplished through conferences, publications, and other activities that contribute to the professional needs of its members. Being a very new society under NHCE – IEEE chapter, Department envisages the following activities as immediate goals: 

 

  • Initiate Industrial lecture talks
  • Invite Professors of excellence for sharing experiences and research results
  • Industrial tours to companies in close vicinity
  • Brainstorming session on “Entrepreneurship and Academia”.
  • Workshop, Symposium, Project Design Contest to the students
  • Promotes the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electro- and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession
