Inauguration – IEEE DEIS Student Branch Chapter
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at NHCE, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, inaugurated the IEEE DEIS Student Branch Chapter on 28 November 2025, with the aim of strengthening technical awareness, ethics, and research culture among students. The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by an introduction to IEEE, highlighting its global impact.
The establishment of the DEIS Chapter marked a significant milestone in promoting knowledge of dielectric and insulation technologies. A guest lecture delivered by Mr. Gaurav Pathak focused on the role of insulation systems in smart cities, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and HVDC networks, while emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary learning and active involvement in IEEE.
Expert inputs from Ms. Rakshita underscored the importance of creativity, communication, and technical branding within IEEE activities. Additional insights were provided by Ms. Chandrika, who spoke about leadership, editorial responsibilities, and professional ethics in a technical environment.
The newly appointed office bearers of the DEIS Chapter were formally introduced, with the support of senior faculty and institutional leaders. Students actively participated in the question-and-answer session, seeking clarity on research opportunities, higher studies, and leadership roles. Their enthusiastic engagement reflected a growing interest in research-driven learning.
The event highlighted the value of IEEE membership in enhancing global exposure and expanding career pathways. The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude to all contributors. Overall, the inauguration laid a strong foundation for future IEEE DEIS activities at NHCE.
