ALUMNI TALK 2025-2026
Alumni Talk Wellness Awareness Programme (What To Do About Your Health)
The Alumni Association of New Horizon College of Engineering, along with the Departments of EEE, ECE, ME, and MCA, organised an Alumni Talk titled “What To Do About Your Health” on 9th May 2026 at Tejas Seminar Hall. The Wellness Awareness Programme was conducted for faculty and staff members with the objective of promoting physical and mental well-being.
The session was delivered by Kumar Himanshu, an alumnus of the EEE Department (2005–2009 Batch), currently associated with Dell Technologies and serving as a Wellness Coach at The Wellness Atlas. Drawing from his corporate and wellness coaching experience, he emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare in today’s demanding professional environment.
The speaker discussed common lifestyle-related health issues arising from stress, sedentary work culture, poor sleep, and unhealthy habits. He highlighted the need to identify the root causes of health concerns rather than focusing only on symptoms. A key message of the session was that small and consistent lifestyle changes can lead to significant long-term health benefits. Participants were encouraged to adopt practical habits such as regular physical activity, mindful eating, proper hydration, and healthy sleep routines.
The session also focused on mental and emotional well-being, workplace stress management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Practical wellness strategies suitable for busy professionals were shared, including short exercise routines, relaxation techniques, and digital detox practices. The interactive session allowed participants to discuss health concerns and seek practical guidance from the resource person. Overall, the programme was engaging and impactful, motivating staff members to prioritise wellness and adopt healthier lifestyles.
