Industry R&D Roundtables- AI and Digital Transformation – Bridging Industry and Academia
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and the Department of R&D successfully organised an insightful programme titled “Industry R&D Roundtables / Meetups: AI and Digital Transformation – Bridging Industry and Academia” on 30th April 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The event was conducted in collaboration with the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) Student Branch Chapters (SBCs) of NHCE.
The roundtable session was led by Mr Sridharan Venkataramanan, Digital Transformation Leader, Educator, Startup Mentor, and AI ML Evangelist at GlobalLogic India Pvt. Ltd., along with Mr K. Jeykishan Kumar, Engineering Officer Grade I, Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bengaluru.
The expert speakers highlighted how rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation are significantly reshaping industries, with particular emphasis on the energy and mobility sectors. The session aimed to bring together industry professionals, academic researchers, and policymakers to encourage collaboration, innovation, and meaningful knowledge exchange.
Key topics discussed during the programme included AI-enabled solutions aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in academia, recent advancements in solar panel technologies, and emerging trends in electric vehicles (EVs).
