CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at New Horizon College of Engineering organised a highly productive faculty industrial visit to the Schneider Electric Innovation Hub – Avinya in Bengaluru on 2nd September 2026. This technical exploration was designed to provide academic instructors with firsthand exposure to contemporary industrial technologies, products, and solutions that drive the electrical, automation, and energy management sectors.
A total of 20 faculty members participated in the visit, seizing the opportunity to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world industrial engineering. The primary objectives of the trip were to study Schneider Electric’s latest product launches and to understand emerging global trends in power management, automation, digitalisation, and energy efficiency. By interfacing with industry experts, the participating educators aimed to identify new opportunities for industry-academia collaboration, future student internships, and joint research projects.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive introduction to Schneider Electric’s vast technological ecosystem and its overarching corporate vision for global sustainability. Industry professionals then led detailed presentations and interactive demonstrations, thoroughly explaining the operating principles and practical applications of their newest systems. These technical showcases highlighted the modern integration of traditional electrical hardware with cloud connectivity, intelligent monitoring, and smart automated solutions.
During an engaging interactive session, the faculty actively discussed practical troubleshooting aspects, engineering skill requirements, and curriculum alignment with the hosting engineers. As a result, the department successfully enhanced its collective awareness of the latest developments in intelligent electrical protection and sustainable power grid technologies.
Ultimately, the valuable insights gathered from this visit will be utilised to strengthen internal teaching methodologies
