ALUMNI TALK 2026-2027

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), New Horizon College of Engineering, in association with the Alumni Association, organised an Alumni Talk titled “From Classroom to Corporate: The Core Engineer’s Playbook” on 17th September 2026 at Tejas Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. Manu K, alumnus of the EEE Department (USN: 1NH20EE063), who shared valuable insights from his professional experience. The talk focused on helping students understand the transition from engineering education to corporate life.

Mr. Manu emphasised the importance of strong technical fundamentals and their practical application in real-world engineering environments. He highlighted various career opportunities available to EEE graduates in core engineering domains and encouraged students to identify areas aligned with their interests. The session stressed the value of hands-on learning through projects, internships, laboratory work, industrial visits, workshops, and technical competitions. Students were also guided on preparing for placements through effective resume building, aptitude practice, technical interviews, and clear presentation of academic projects.

The speaker emphasised the importance of communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, time management, and professional etiquette alongside technical skills. He encouraged students to embrace continuous learning through certifications, online courses, industry webinars, workshops, and emerging technologies. An interactive session enabled students to seek guidance on placements, internships, projects, technical preparation, and career opportunities in the core engineering sector. The programme provided students with practical career perspectives and strengthened alumni–student engagement, motivating them to pursue structured skill development and professional growth.
