Expert Talk on Industry Practices in Managing Product Strategy for Transportation Electrification
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at New Horizon College of Engineering organised an expert talk on “Industry Practices in Managing Product Strategy for Transportation Electrification Systems” on 02nd April 2026. The session aimed to provide valuable industry exposure and insights into the rapidly evolving field of transportation electrification and electric vehicle technologies.
The talk was delivered by Mr. Venkata Vinod Pasumarthi, General Manager at Ather Energy, Bangalore. It focused on bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practices in the electric mobility sector. The speaker clearly explained the importance of product strategy in the development and deployment of transportation electrification systems.
He discussed how industries align market requirements, technological feasibility, and sustainability goals while designing electric mobility products. Key aspects such as product lifecycle management, integration of power electronics and battery systems, and the development of charging infrastructure were highlighted.
The session also addressed challenges related to EV system design, performance optimisation, and thermal management. Furthermore, the importance of user experience and digital integration in modern electric vehicles was emphasised. Practical examples from Ather Energy illustrated how EV products are conceptualised, designed, tested, and successfully launched.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging through questions on EV technologies and career opportunities. Overall, the expert talk enhanced students’ understanding of industry expectations and motivated them to pursue careers and research in electric mobility and sustainable transportation technologies.
