Green Walkathon 2026

The Green Walkathon was conducted from 22nd to 24th April 2026 by the Green Energy Club under the guidance of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering as part of the Green Campus Initiative. The event was organised to promote environmental responsibility and encourage public participation in sustainability efforts. The walkathon symbolised unity, collective action, and commitment towards protecting nature and adopting eco-friendly lifestyles.

Participants actively took part in the walk by carrying placards, banners, and slogans that spread awareness about environmental conservation, pollution control, climate change, renewable energy, waste reduction, and sustainable living practices. The event served as a public demonstration of support for environmental protection and emphasised the importance of collective efforts in building a cleaner and greener future. It encouraged students to engage with society and communicate vital environmental messages beyond the campus.

The walkathon also promoted physical fitness alongside environmental awareness, highlighting the strong connection between a healthy lifestyle and a healthy environment. Through active participation, students developed a sense of social responsibility and teamwork. The event created a strong visual impact by effectively communicating environmental concerns and motivating individuals to contribute towards positive environmental change. It also enhanced leadership, coordination, and organisational skills among the participants, reinforcing the idea that every small step taken today contributes to a more sustainable tomorrow.
