Inauguration of IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (TEC) Student Branch Chapter

The IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (TEC) Student Branch Chapter was inaugurated on 2nd April 2026. The event was organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with the IEEE NHCE Student Branch.

The programme introduced IEEE TEC and outlined its role in advancing electric mobility and sustainable transportation. The office bearers of the newly established IEEE TEC Student Branch Chapter were formally introduced to the gathering. The vision, objectives, and responsibilities of the chapter were presented to encourage student engagement in technical and professional activities.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr Venkata Vinod Pasumarthi, who spoke on the evolving landscape of transportation electrification. He provided valuable insights into electric vehicle technologies, battery systems, and charging infrastructure. Emerging trends, technological innovations, and practical challenges in the EV ecosystem were highlighted during the session. The talk also emphasised career and research opportunities in electric mobility, power electronics, and battery technologies.

An interactive discussion enabled students to ask questions and gain clarity on industry practices and prospects. The event successfully enhanced awareness about the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council and its activities. It also marked a strong beginning for future technical programmes and industry interactions under the IEEE TEC Student Branch Chapter.
