The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), in association with the IEEE NHCE Student Branch and IEEE DEIS Student Branch Chapter, organised an industrial visit for 4th Semester EEE students of Section B on 1st April 2026. The visit was conducted at TUV Rheinland India Pvt. Ltd., Electronic City Phase IV, Bengaluru, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to industrial testing, inspection, and certification processes related to electrical and electronic equipment.
TUV Rheinland, a globally recognised testing and certification organisation, introduced students to its role in ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance with international standards. The visit began with a welcome and introductory session outlining the organisation’s global presence and range of services. Experts delivered a detailed presentation on product safety testing, electrical insulation testing, and certification procedures.
Students were briefed on various international safety and quality standards followed in the electrical industry. A guided laboratory tour allowed students to observe advanced testing facilities and measurement systems. Engineers demonstrated testing of products under different environmental and operational conditions to ensure safety and reliability.
Students actively interacted with the experts, clarifying doubts related to testing methods and industry practices. The visit enhanced students’ understanding of quality assurance and the importance of certification in Electrical Engineering. Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and helped bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications.
