Description of the Event
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a One Day Workshop on Drone Technology in collaboration with IEEE DEIS and MS Innovations, Bengaluru. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical knowledge and exposure to modern drone technologies, robotics, and IoT applications, and witnessed active participation from students eager to explore the growing field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Resource Persons
The workshop was led by two distinguished resource persons — Mr. Biswendu Biswas, a DGCA-Certified Drone Pilot, and Mr. Sujith M S, a Robotics and IoT Developer and Co-Founder of MS Innovations.

Workshop Highlights
The workshop commenced with a comprehensive introduction to drone technology and UAV systems, followed by an in-depth session on the basics of drone components and their working principles. Participants were also introduced to the wide-ranging applications of drones across industries such as agriculture, surveillance, and delivery systems. One of the most engaging segments of the day was a hands-on drone demonstration and live flying session, which gave students a firsthand experience of UAV operation. The workshop further covered discussions on robotics, IoT integration, and future career opportunities in the field, concluding with an interactive Q&A session where students had the opportunity to engage directly with the experts.

Outcome of the Workshop
The workshop successfully enhanced students’ understanding of drone systems and their real-world applications. Participants gained practical insights into drone operation, automation, and emerging technologies in robotics and IoT. The event inspired students to explore innovative projects and research opportunities in the field of drone technology.
