ALUMNI TALK 2025-2026
Alumni Talk on Beyond the Syllabus: Future Skills for Engineers
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the Alumni Association of NHCE, organized an Alumni Talk on “Beyond the Syllabus: Future Skills for Engineers” on 13th October 2025. The session aimed to equip engineering students with insights into industry-relevant skills that go beyond the academic curriculum, effectively bridging the gap between traditional engineering education and the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Conducted under the leadership of Dr. S. Sujitha, HoD – EEE (Convenor), and coordinated by Dr. B. Gunapriya, Associate Professor – EEE (Coordinator), the event featured an engaging session by Mr. Arunanshu, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in today’s dynamic engineering industry. He highlighted how emerging technologies such as cloud computing, data engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) are redefining both core and IT engineering roles.
The speaker shared his personal career journey, illustrating how an EEE graduate can successfully transition into leadership roles within data-driven domains. He also outlined structured pathways for students to develop their skills through certifications, projects, and practical experience. Furthermore, the talk provided valuable career guidance on resume building, internship preparation, and the development of essential soft skills such as communication and problem-solving.
An interactive Q&A session encouraged students to seek advice on switching domains, integrating core engineering principles with IT applications, and preparing effectively for top-tier company interviews.
The session concluded with positive outcomes — students gained awareness of emerging technological trends shaping the engineering field, were inspired to pursue continuous skill development through online platforms and projects, and understood how foundational EEE knowledge can be applied in IT and allied domains. The event also strengthened the bond between alumni and students, paving the way for more collaborative and knowledge-sharing initiatives in the future.
