Green Campus Initiative Campaign

The Green Energy Club of New Horizon College of Engineering successfully organised the Green Campus Initiative, coordinated by Mr Vinod Kumar S, with the active participation of 120 internal students. The initiative aimed to promote sustainable living and environmental responsibility across the campus. A key highlight of the programme was the Green Campus Initiative Campaign, which focused on reducing energy consumption, minimising waste, and adopting eco-friendly practices. Students enthusiastically participated through poster displays, interactive discussions, and eco-friendly pledges. These activities encouraged students to incorporate green habits into their daily lives.

The programme was officially launched through an Inauguration Ceremony, which emphasised the importance of sustainability and collective action. Faculty members and guest speakers shared valuable insights on adopting environmentally responsible practices. The ceremony motivated students to actively participate in the planned events and contribute towards a greener campus. Various sub-events such as a Quiz Competition, Treasure Hunt, Green Canvas Poster Presentation, Reel Making Challenge, and Walkathon further enhanced student engagement.

An Awareness Session in the form of a technical talk educated participants on green energy and sustainable technologies. Topics included renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydro energy, along with their role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The session also highlighted real-life applications of green technologies and their contribution to environmental sustainability.
