We feel proud to have the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (IEEE TEC), which is one of the fastest progressing and promising technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru initiated and actively started IEEE TEC NHCE Student Branch Chapter on 16.01.2025.

 

Objectives:

IEEE Transportation Electrification Council (TEC) coordinates broad and deep activities throughout the IEEE in the growing electrification revolution across transportation domains, including advances in electric and hybrid cars, more-electric ships and aircraft, rail systems, personal transport, and the motive, storage, power grid, electronic intelligence, and control technologies that make them possible. Creates leadership, professional development, standards development, and other opportunities for practitioners, researchers, students, and all IEEE members interested in electric transportation.

 

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering received Petition Approval Letter from IEEE Member and Geographic Activities USA to start the IEEE Transportation Electrification Council NHCE Student Branch Chapter on 16th January 2025. The effective date of this Student Branch Chapter formation is January 16, 2025 and Geo Code is SBC66131G. Currently 18 IEEE TEC Members are active in this chapter of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department.

 

  • Initiate Industrial lecture talks
  • Invite Professors of excellence for sharing experiences and research results
  • Industrial tours to companies in close vicinity
  • Brainstorming session on “Entrepreneurship and Academia”.
  • Workshop, Symposium, Project Design Contest to the students
  • Promotes the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electro- and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession
