CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Industrial Visit - Karnataka Hybrid Micro Devices Limited (KHMDL), Bengaluru

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at New Horizon College of Engineering organised an industrial visit to Karnataka Hybrid Micro Devices Limited (KHMDL), Bengaluru, on 4th and 5th of November 2025. The visit was attended by the 7th Semester B.E. students from Sections A and B. The objective was to provide practical exposure to industrial processes and bridge the gap between theory and application.

KHMDL is a leading manufacturer of hybrid microcircuits, sensors, and electronic systems for industrial, defense, and automotive sectors. The visit was conducted under the IEEE NHCE Student Branch and its associated societies – IES, PELS, and IAS Bangalore Chapter. Students toured the manufacturing and testing units, observing microcircuit fabrication, hybrid packaging, and sensor calibration. Experts explained automation, reliability testing, and power electronics applications. Students learned about hybrid microdevice design and real-world electronic manufacturing. They gained insights into control systems, safety protocols, and quality assurance.

The visit highlighted industry standards and technological trends. It also introduced students to career opportunities in electronics manufacturing. The session enhanced understanding of embedded systems and advanced manufacturing. Students appreciated the exposure to indigenous technology and innovation. The visit successfully linked academic learning with industrial practice.
